Work Begins on New Library and County Office Building
Curt Swinford of Castleberry, McGregor and Swinford Architects presented the Livingston County Fiscal Court with an artist rendering of the New Library and County Office Building at the joint meeting of the Fiscal Court and Library Exploratory Committee on September 1, 2009. The building should be ready for bid proposals in the spring of 2010 with Construction beginning in the summer of 2010. The Fiscal Court has already received a grant of $190,000 from Congressman Ed Whitfield to go toward the Library.
The building will be three (3) floors with each floor covering approximately 9000 square feet for a total of 27,000 square feet and it will house the Sheriff and County Clerk on the first floor; the Judge Executive, County Attorney, Child Support, and PVA Office on the second floor; and the Library on the third floor.
